My Patreon site is finally closed and refunds to annual subscribers we mailed out.
I thought I’d have some smooth sailing time to regroup by now, but already external changes are pressuring me for additional changes—I received a note that Mad Mimi the email program I use to send out post announcements is being discontinued by GoDaddy. They had gobbled up the Mad Mimi a couple years ago and now are pushing users to switch to their email program. (This would be a price increase for me.)
In a pre-Patreon and Patreon time for me that would have been a simple transfer. However it means a price increase. Since I no longer have classes to sell it seems a lot of money to spend just to let you know I’ve posted about journaling, or baking, or TV Westerns.
This will probably be the final email notification you receive from RozWoundUp with the Mad Mimi program. I want you to keep stopping by, so here are some suggestions.
How Can You Find Out What Roz Is Posting?
Facebook Notifications
I will continue to post a notification on my Roz Stendahl Facebook account every time a new blog post is up here. (In fact I’ll probably post on my RozWoundUp Facebook account too.) Follow me on Facebook at Roz Stendahl or RozWoundUp, and you’ll get post notifications through Facebook. Facebook notifications will be done manually by me and will probably come 24 to 48 hours after a blog post goes up on RozWoundUp.com.
RSS Notifications
If you still want a notification to come right to your “inbox” you can try an RSS News Reader. Read about the following options before selecting one—and there are of course other RSS news readers out there you can research and check prices (single purchase versus monthly, and various features).
My website tech guy recommends Leaf-RSS News Reader which you can find at this link for $9.99. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS he offered.
- From your computer click on the link I’ve given you to the app.
- After you install it on your computer select “subscribe to feed” and enter this URL: https://rozwoundup.com/feed
You can add other blogs that have RSS feeds and then all of their new posts will come right to you on your personal “feed” on your computer.
Another RSS news-reader you can look at is Feedly. It starts at $6 per month.
Already Use an RSS-news-reader?
At the right is a screen shot of the top of my blog’s landing page. To the far right you can see the RSS icon next to the social media icons. If you already use an RSS-news-reader, or you have installed one following the above instructions, you can simply click on this icon on any page of my blog. It’s always in the top right AND it is in the footer of every blog page, down after the post’s text, at the far right of the social media icons. It’s where you used to sign up for my email list. Also in the footer, there is a handy link and instructions on copying the link to use with you RSS-news-reader. I wanted to make it easy for you and my web-designer was able to create these options.
Just Stop on By
Of course the easiest thing for you to do is just drop by RozWoundup.com now and then and check on the new posts. I’m not sure how many times a week or a month I’ll be posting.
I was hoping to return to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday post schedule, but the Patreon wrap up took more time and effort than I expected. While I have plenty of experiments, images, and thoughts to share with you going forward, I haven’t had the mental space to think things through. For now I am thinking I will probably post once a week. A longer post with a couple images.
Of course as soon as I type that sentence I recall that my short “in-context” posts are the most fun to for me to post and life is very fragmented right now so maybe sharing those fragments will be the way forward.
I suggest you simply stop by on Friday morning sometime after 4 a.m. Central Standard Time. Any post coming out on Friday will be out by then, and you’ll be able to look at my landing page to see the past 5 posts which means you’re not likely to miss anything if you make Friday morning (or Saturday morning) a habit.
That way, when I work out what I’m going to be focusing on going forward you’ll be one of the first people (after Dick) to know.
I hope you consider reading. I enjoy connecting with you. In the meantime—keep sketching.

I’ll be trying to find you, which ever way the technology takes you. Glad you have a plan to carry on. I don’t post a lot, but like to keep up with “Roz-world.” For example your “Toughest job” posts were greatly helpful when I stepped in it. And now I am considered elderly I can call on what I learned for myself too. Cheers, bill b.
Bill, thanks for sticking with me through all these transformations. Yes we do get to learn a lot about aging when we take care of the parent generation—and it does help us know what is coming and what to plan for. I hope that things are going well for you.
You told us on FB to come here and read this, so I did. What do you know? I was not aware of your RozWoundUp FB page! Learn something new every day. I shall next to there and like/follow it. Your posts are good, no matter how frequently or rarely they come. Just do these at a pace most suitable to your current life.
Meg, you’re so funny. Thanks for staying in touch.
Thank you for all the good humour, fabulous drawing, sharp writing and general good company!
Thank you Janet, for stopping by, and for finding value. I hope you’ll keep stopping by now and then going forward.
I’ve been following you and Roz Wound Up for years through a different RSS news reader. I use Feedly (dot) com (slash) news-reader. I follow quite a few news and art sites and this allows me to check one place daily and if there’s anything new from one of my favorites it will show up there. I’m quite happy with it and I believe you can follow a limited number of sites for free.
Good luck going forward Roz! I think streamlining your posting and notification process is an excellent idea… more time for those enthusiasms.
Dana thanks for mentioning Feedly, it’s what Tina uses and evidently there’s a free version I didn’t find when I searched for it. Thanks for writing in, and most of all thanks for reading. It has been great fun to get to know you and your art. (And yes, more time for enthusiasms!)
I’ve been using Feedly for years, and it’s always been free! Not sure what you get for the one you mention that has a fee. Anyway, I think a blog reader like Feedly is the easiest way to keep track of (sadly dwindling) blogs I’ve read for many years, including yours. Keep writing, I’ll keep reading!
Tina, I remember years ago you mentioned Feedly, that’s why I added it on the list, but maybe the version I found had add ons? I’m glad there is still a free version. Thanks for reading all these years!
For RSS I use Inoreader, it’s free (with paid upgrades, but not necessary for following a selection of art blogs), I love it!
Thanks for another suggestion of an RSS reader that will work well! Thanks for stopping by.
Would you consider posting notifications of blog updates on the Roz Interim Webinar Facebook page as well? Sorry to see the email notifications go.
Sharon, I can’t promise to be faithful to posting blog post notifications on the RIWFB page because it doesn’t come up as an option in the posting window on Facebook. I get RS account and I get my RWU account, but I don’t get the RIWFB. Maybe because it’s a private group?
I’m really trying to simplify and reduce time spent at the computer and jumping to another group just adds an extra step to my to-do list and time. It adds up. The larger issue I have is that I don’t know that what I’ll post going forward on RWU will always be of interest to a group dedicated to my drawing students. Everyone there is there for drawing, not bread baking or cycling, or Westerns, etc.
If you’re in RIWFB you had to befriend me on FB so you should already get notifications if I post on FB right?
I’d love you to stay in touch. I think we just have to say your best bet, if you don’t friend me on FB any more and get those notifications, is to just check into the blog every week or two and catch up. You’ll get to see what you want to see and the RIWFB won’t be clogged with unrelated postings by me.
heya Roz, you do what works best for you and Dick. We will always love you and seek out your witty and exhaustive advice. A long term mentor in the wings of my sketching life you will forever stay.
all best as you defragment your life and create some open water, to mix some delicious metaphors.
Carry on wonderful Roz and I shall drop by and keep in touch this way as I try and limit my time on the socials (healthier for me to scroll less and draw more)
Deb, I can’t see my response to your note so I’m typing again. Thank you. Slowly things are starting to come together again. Always great to hear from you! Busy creating on the other side of the world!
OMG Deb Mostert! I love your mixed metaphors… gonna keep that in my bank of fun lingo!
Have enjoyed your work over the years. Came here recently to see your review of the sailor hocoro pen before buying one. Thank you. Look forward to seeing more of your work here going forward.
So glad it was helpful. I am glad you continue to stop by! Keep sketching.
