More brush pen hair for the week.
The bonus of stubble.
When you are sketching with a brush pen life is really pretty great. (And you can cope better with all the times you aren’t sketching with a brush pen!)
This is a sketch of an Earth’s World Fairgoer in a handbound journal I made with the NEW Folio paper. Folio is a printmaking paper that I like to bind into journals—well I did when it was the old Folio. Around 2000 it was purchased and changed, and it’s still a good paper, it’s just not the old Folio. I continued to bind with the New Folio because it was a quality paper at an inexpensive price so if you’re teaching binding it was a good option to keep costs down.
Some days I can’t forget that it’s not the Old Folio. Then other days like this day I just enjoy it for what it is, a jolly fun paper to sketch on with Brush Pen.
Because remember, sketching with brush pen makes life feel pretty great.
Get some sketching done. (Keep an eye out for hairdos!)
Note: I haven’t purchased any of the New Folio for 15 years, so I don’t even know if at this point the New Folio is the Newest Folio—since so many things are changing fast with papers. Before you purchase any of this paper called Folio I recommend you get a sheet as a sample and, you know the drill, tear it down, fold it with the grain and see if it cracks, and then test your pens and paints on it. As a printmaking paper you’ll need to manage your water on it if you’re painting. Just a heads up.
