More Fun Hair from the Great British Baking Show

December 22, 2023

Yep, not finished yet—on this season Guiseppi had great hair too.

On another note—I wish Paul had listed at least 10 reasons for meringue failing. I have never had a failed meringue—but my experience with them has been limited to making Baked Alaska in the 1980s.

I’m about to embark on more meringue adventures and I wish Paul had left some breadcrumbs!

Meanwhile, I’m just enjoying all the lovely curls of hair.

If you’re familiar with meringues and want to leave some tips please do!

Great sketch. I would love to try to make pavlova or macarons but I have never done anything with meringue and rarely do anything more complicated than something from a mix or cookies

I’ll keep you posted on how it goes. I probably won’t do anything with meringue until the end of January, but then I think I’m just going to have to! And maybe I need one of those torches!!!!

Sharon, thanks so much for the great link. I really enjoyed reading the meringue tips. I remembered some of them from my days of making Baked Alaska, but this was very thorough. I felt badly for all the Great British Bakers in a tent with humidity trying to do this! I’ve seriously got Pavlova on the brain now!
