Just a fun page spread from a lined, commercially bound notebook that I like to paint in, just because. (I did videotape this sketch process so it will eventually end up on Patreon with some approach-related comments, and ideas on dealing with non-watercolor paper.)
After sketching I wrote the spread heading and then decided to scan the page before writing something personal on the page—as I do like my privacy in my journal.
But you know what? I haven’t felt the need to write anything on that page. I just love the goofy little face. I found a photo reference on Sktchy, and it seemed just the look I needed for a self-portrait on the day.
Often the drawing and painting is enough. Then it’s time to move on.
That’s how it needs to be.
Move on this weekend.
I thought your self portraits were always birds. Nice change of pace, and a cute, if bewildered, dog!
Very bewildered. And totally reflecting what I was feeling on the day. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.
