I Knew Very Little About Prue Leith Until…

August 6, 2021

Last December, already a fan of “The Great British Baking Show” I knew very little about the host Prue Leith except her love of wonderfully colorful glasses, wacky jewelry, and her kindness to the bakers.

While poking about on Amazon Prime one evening I found, “My Greatest Dishes.”

Each episode features a famous chef going through four of the dishes that mean the most to them personally and professionally as developmental moments. It was wonderful to find Prue Leith featured on Episode 2. I made some notes to inform Dick. And then he wanted to watch the episode, so I happily joined in for a second viewing.

I recommend this episode, but also the whole series. I learned something crucial from each chef, sometimes a simple but important as how to handle garlic for best result, and sometimes an amazing dish that I think might be fun to make.

Thanks for the suggestion! Prue is great, and I love how you summed up what you knew about her so succinctly. Good cooking shows go a bit beyond the recipes, and this one sounds intriguing. Looking forward to it.
