Learning to See Freckles Again

May 18, 2020

I think it’s important to keep looking for new visual vocabulary approaches as our eyes change, so here I was on non-watercolor paper, playing around with thoughts of freckles.

Even if you don’t have a vision change you can still come at a visual observation with a fresh eye and search for new ways to approach it, new tools to mark it, new pigments to create the color of it on the page.

Look through your journals and sketchbooks and see something that you already have a visual vocabulary for. Then go find an example of that subject again and come at it from a different angle.

Keep the gears turning.
