A Page Can’t Contain Your Sketches and Collage? Learn This Book Structure

April 30, 2020
Fold out pages give you space to expand your illustrations and lettering for dramatic effect.

If you constantly find that your visual journaling needs more space to capture your ideas, consider making a book which is happy holding fold outs, ups, downs, you name it.

The sewn-on-the-spine journal holds signatures on the spine with decorative stitching. This allows you to decorate the outside of book through your choice of stitch and thread, but it also creates a little extra space between signatures. And those small spaces allow you to go wild with fold out pages, layered collage, even three-dimensional collage items.

Registration for Sewn-on-the-Spine Journal closes tomorrow (Friday, May 1). Class opens on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Go to the link to read about the class and download a detailed supply list.

I will be teaching this class again in October 2020. (Registration for that session will open in September.) That will be my last session of this class. Don’t miss out on learning this great structure.

I’ll be closing my class platform on December 31, 2021, so I will not be teaching at all during 2021. This ensures that all students from 2020 will have over a year of access.
