I have already given my thoughts and recommendations about this paper and you can find them under “Canson Heritage” using the blog’s search engine or category list.
This is a 100 percent cotton paper that has a non-animal sizing.
But I wanted to share another piece I did which had some lifting out.
This started as a light graphite sketch, loosely done, no detail, and then brush pen. You can still see the graphite at the sides of the nose. (Lines in the eyes are painted lines.)
If you look at the forehead you can see areas where I’m lifting color out above the brow. I also did this at our left side of the nose, under the eye, the far left, and just above the mustache.
Even though I was using some staining colors I felt the paper held up nicely to the lifting agitation of the brush.
I have provided a detail at the base of this post so you can see the smooth texture of the paper.
