In Context: Sometimes Stories Pop into Your Head…

December 7, 2018
Page in a journal I bound with Arches Text Wove. It’s not a watercolor paper but I enjoy painting on it. With stenciling and collage.

Sometimes something about your source inspiration suggests a story. This can be a pose that a model strikes for you, or a person you see out in public having a conversation you can’t overhear, or a photo inspiration like the type you find on Sktchy. It can even happen when you draw a selfie.

Whenever it happens it’s good to give in and let the idea come out.

One day this fall I was playing around and a little story came out. This Sktchy model just seemed to me like a good witch, who had been asked to solve a problem.

Go ahead, play.

Thanks Paul. I am always thinking up little stories. So the journal is a big help that way!

This one had me smiling, Roz. I’ve often thought if a space ship landed and wanted to take me for a ride, I’d go. But, first I’d want them to sign a form that said NO medical experiments and also the ride would be of a duration acceptable to me. Funny, so far they haven’t asked to take me for a spin 🙂

I’d have to ask them first if there was paper in space!!!!
