For the first two months of 2018 I tested both the hot press and cold press versions of the new Stonehenge Aqua 140 lb. watercolor paper.
To do that I first bound two books. One contained hot press paper, the other cold press. I then used all the usual pens and paints I typically use for my visual journaling.
Above is one of the resultant pages in the cold press test book. Some text has been obscured for privacy.
Do you have new papers that you are interested in working in? Get a couple sheets and bind them into pamphlets (you don’t need to learn bookbinding first). Then take the pamphlets out for sketching. When you’re at home throw even more media at the paper. Discover what the paper’s characteristics are.
I’ll have an in-depth review of the paper line near the end of May, or early in June.
