For the past several weeks I’ve been making a nuisance of myself—I’ve been painting small 5 x 7 inch gouache paintings on the “sofa” theme.

Tonight, July 14 at the Edina Art Center “Over the Sofa” opens with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.

See yesterday’s post for details!

Wherever I ended up in the past several weeks I have been sketching sofas and pillows and…well anything that I can interpret as on this sofa theme. So that I can then go back into the studio and make small gouache paintings for the fundraiser.

The image in today’s post is just one of those “studies” that led to final pieces painted in gouache.

In short, I have been making a real nuisance of myself—though how this is different from normal I can’t really explain.

But in this case it has been in the service of fundraising and I hope you turn out and buy some of the 5 x 7 images from me and other artists.
