Thursday, July 14 at the Edina Art Center “Over the Sofa” opens with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.

The art on display is all on loan from people living or working in Edina. It is the art that they have collected and hung “over their sofas.”

It will be an eclectic show and fun to have this peek into art collection and the art people love to live with.

There is also a fundraiser aspect to this show. All of the “over the sofa” art is on loan and therefore not for sale. However, artists throughout the Cities have been asked to donate 5 x 7 inch pieces of art made on the “sofa” theme, to be sold during the opening—all priced at $20.

I’ve donated several pieces of sofa themed art myself, a couple of which are shown in this post. If you’d like to own a small gouache painting by me and support a great art center at the same time, now is the time to do it relatively painlessly (i.e. $20).

I hope you’ll come out to the show and enjoy the reception and support Edina Art Center.
