It’s that time of year again—Monday, January 18 is the eighth annual MCBA Visual Journal Collective’s Portrait Party.
Join us from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m for great fun, sketching, and bookmaking.
(Note our earlier starting time for this special event.)
In two and a half hours we will not only make the content for our books (the portraits!) but we will make a delightful, editioned book which contains all the portraits. (The portrait you draw will be opposite the portrait your drawing partner makes of you—it’s too fun.)
Everyone will go home with a book.
The cost for this evening is $5.00—it pays for the copying and paper costs. (Please bring cash or a check, as there will be no way to run credit cards. Exact change is greatly appreciated.)
The only other thing you need to bring is your favorite black ink pen that you like to sketch with. (Black ink works best with the photocopying process. Pencil will not show up.)
All adult sketchers are welcome.
All skill levels are encouraged to come. Even if you think you can’t draw people, you will be amazed: you can draw faces! It will be fun.
Don’t worry if this is your first time at the MCBA Journal Collective, we’ll make you feel welcome and we may even ask you to help out passing out supplies!
Come and meet some great people and make a book in the process!
Note: Because it is Martin Luther King Day the building may be locked. There will signs on the front door telling you what to do. Please arrive on time so we can get started.
Also, sometimes, because our meeting time is earlier for only this meeting during the year, the time isn't always correct on MCBA's website. Our starting time is 6:30 p.m.! See you there.
See you all there!
