“It’s Carl Week” of Course!

October 26, 2012

Above: Faber-Castell Pitt Artist's Calligraphy Pen sketch of Carl in a 7 x 9 inch handbound journal I made with Annigoni Designo paper. I used Schmincke and Holbein gouache. I don't usually use the latter, but I had some and I wanted a really flat chalky look—which Holbein does.

Living with Carl just gets more entertaining every day. (And we both enjoy television.) Carl is always up for a quest.

Don't know who Carl is? You can check this link for his first appearance here. Or you can click on "Carl" in the category list in the left column.

For a second I thought the human figure was Carl Perkins:)))) And you can’t throw “retrieving the pillow” out there without an explanation. I’m not a fan of the Survivor series so I’m not in the loop.

Molly, I had to check that Carl Perkins was really who I thought he was (a singer) because I’m not really big on knowing singers. I can see they both have a pompadour. Sorry for your confusion.

I’m afraid there really isn’t any explanation for this. Survivor is just Survivor. Being a fan or not will mean nothing to your understanding. There is no loop to be in on. I’m afraid you can actually just throw out “retrieve the pillow” and leave it there because that’s what this piece does.

Carl enjoys participating in a vast array of quests and adventures and I enjoy sketching him.

There will be more daily adventures for Carl through Monday. Please come back and check them out.
