Dog Days of Summer?

August 31, 2012

Above: Dog sketch done with a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen and gouache in a 9 x 12 inch Fabriano Venezia in-studio journal.

If you're coming to the blog and wondering where all my Minnesota State Fair Sketches are please be patient; they'll be here eventually in some form or other (scans, video). My focus this week is on family, work, and then Fair. (A little bit different from past years when the Fair could reign supreme for its duration.) It means I won't have time to scan anything; any spare moments I have I'm going to the Fair.

I thought ahead and pre-posted this dog image to remind you to sketch. If you bump into me at the Fair, say "Hey." But then get right back to sketching! We only have a few days!

Am I obsessed? You bet I am. It's Fair Time!

Thanks Miss T and Ellen, I’m glad you both like the sketch. I like the drippiness.

No Fair for me today. We were going to go later this afternoon (Miss T I think I told you this). I think I’ll try to sketch the wild turkeys living in our yard now.

Don’t forget to stop and take a breath.
