My friend Marsha sent me a link to this Puffin Burrow Cam. There is something very relaxing about watching the downy body breathing quietly, half sleeping, half awake. Check it out. I've posted about other bird's nest cams here as friends have made me aware of them (what Roz can't search the net for herself? —evidently not). I rarely watch them because I am susceptible to being sucked in (and I want to stay at the computer for as little time as possible), but I think the technology that has been used to share these views throughout the world is marvelous. Enjoy some birdwatching today even if you can't leave the house.

I WAS going to draw at the Bell, but now I may stay in and draw Puffins, what to do? Very cute, Roz. Thanks for posting.
What to do indeed Liz. The Bell can be very hot during the summer (no a.c. in the building) so if you go, go early. Since it has cooled off in the past few days (a little), today would be a good day. I would have been over there today myself except that I ended up with two meetings today!
I haven’t sketched from any of the bird cams yet, but I think they are a good resource.
And great practice for SUNDAY’S CHICKENS. I can’t wait. (But I’m going to have to.) See you on Sunday.
I found this a few days ago and seem to catch baby sleeping and have only seen mom once. Hard to draw that way, but I’m hopeful. I do love puffins!
PS. Be sure to check out the second cam at the Puffin Loafing Ledge. There have been some great activity there. I must say I was fooled by the decoys when it was a long shot. Today is busy and close up.
Barbara, yes, I’ve only seen bits and pieces and not much to draw, but I deliberately try not to watch for too long. My friend did warn me about the decoys, but thanks for the reminder. I’m going to go and check that out now.
I don’t have enough to watch what with the mice, birds, and squirrels in the garden, now I’m hooked on a puffin burrow. I’ve always liked these birds, I wanted to make a handcarved stamp of one but I can’t find a good picture of a whole bird.
Sometimes I check out the webcam for the chimps in Ellensburg, Wa but I can’t seem to catch any activity. No wonder I’m not getting my assemblage done!!
