More on Pat Beaubien and Her Presentation at the MCBA Visual Journal Collective

April 15, 2012

If you missed Pat Beaubien's presentation at the March 2012 MCBA Visual Journal Collective meeting and want to see more photos of her work and the event you can go to Briana Goetzen's blog Courageously Creating, to see photos that she took during the meeting

I put that link in an update on my post about Pat Beaubien's presentation, but I didn't want people who had already read that post missing Briana's photos.

Since Pat doesn't have a website we have to see her work in person, when we can. Keep your eyes peeled.

Thank you, thank you, Roz for this additional link to photos of Pat’s work. We have to respect that someone has reasons for what they do or don’t do, but I sure wish Pat would consider a website or a Flickr slide show. Such lovely journals. I feel peaceful and centered when I look at her work, and sense that she was at one with her subject as she painted it. I’m sure all the journal artists in that group are a delight to know and learn from.

Louise, while I would love for Pat to have a website I’m am really glad she just paints. Ultimately that’s the important thing. Taking time to scan, not even counting the expense of the equipment and the learning curve of the software, is pretty time intensive.

There are directions I think she wants to go in the future that may necessitate a website so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed. I’m fortunate because I can have dinner with her when she’s in town and check out her journals.

I’m glad you get a peaceful feeling from her work. I know she will love to hear that. I hope at some point to capture her sketching on video!

The Collective is a diverse group including everyone from hardcore sketching enthusiasts to glitter advocates! If you ever get to Minneapolis be sure to come on a Third Monday of the month!
