Twin Cities artist and illustrator Marty Harris is teaching a printmaking class. I just learned about it at Saturday's State Fair Sketch Out, where some of you met Marty—he came and sketched and was at the 4 p.m. meeting.
Marty is the mastermind behind Moly_X. You can see his work at 'Skine art. There's a wonderful energy to his line in his art and I think you will be inspired by his work, the observations he captures, and his humor.
Check out this course description and call the number at the end to sign up: the class starts on Septmber 10
Course Description
Bringing that good ol’ rugged, resourceful, romantic American sense of adventure to the printshop, Printin’ from the Hip is an exercise in spontaneity, simple materials, basic skills, creative solutions, and loving the printshop. In the spirit of the Wild West, we'll make prints from anything we can pick up along the trail. Monoprinting, collographs, and relief printing are all part of our printmaking rodeo. And everyone will take home a passle of fresh, fun, original art.
