I Told You There Would Be More Portraits

January 18, 2011

Above: Another pre-Portrait Party practice page in my journal. This journal is the second for 2011. It is 8 x 10 inches and made with a defunct drawing paper (which is too bad because I am addicted to the smell of this paper and sometimes I simply hold the book in my lap so that I can smell the paper—sigh—I have about three more books made with this paper). The trouble with large journals like this is they don't fit on my scanner in one scan. I didn't have time to fix the join of the two scans in the gutter of the page spread, but you get the idea. The left page is also buckling a lot (hence the shadows), because I used a lot of watercolor on the previous spread. You should be able to learn everything else if you click on the image to view an enlargement. (Faber-Castel Pitt Artist Calligraphy Pen.)

I'm taking today off from the blog, so there's just this short post. More about everything at another time. Go sketch something, or someone, today.

Ken, I’m glad you had fun. THANK YOU! The two pages of additional art that you did for the book were fantastic. I couldn’t stop smiling. I keep looking at my book. I love it. You are amazing! Thank you. I’ll have more to say about all this latter, including a post about the party. Today I’m playing catch up. (I really want to go to life drawing tonight too!)

    Again. Thank you!
