Groveland Gallery Shows Thomas Paquette Paintings in Their Annex

January 2, 2011

The post gives details about this show that’s up NOW!

In 2009 a friend introduced me to the work of Thomas Paquette. He works in gouache and oil paints (separately).

If you're in the Twin Cities you can see his work up at the Groveland Gallery, now through January 15!

I didn't remember the show was coming until last week when that same friend took me to see it. Sorry about the late notice, but make a point to get over there.

It really makes a difference to see the detail work of this talented artist in person. There is a stunning gouache of Canada Geese flying over a marsh. (It's sold but you can still look at it before it leaves for a new home.) Other small gems of gouache painting are included in this show. You'll also want to see his oil paintings—see how he filters light through trees, carves branches out of space, and well, just generally knocks your socks off. Go now before it's all sold because you just might kick yourself later!

They are nice paintings and I see he’s also represented by a gallery in my home town of Philadelphia.
