More Errands—Baseball Caps Still Frustrate Me

Sketching at the allergist’s.

Staedtler Pigment Liner in my current journal made with Velin Arches (Arches Text Wove), with Daniel Smith and M. Graham watercolors.(Verso page of the spread, not shown, contains photos and postcards from other errands.)

Running around Thursday I also got my allergy shots. I like to sketch while I wait the required time (30 minutes) after a shot—to make sure you don't have a reaction.

I try to draw people in baseball caps whenever I can. The simple shape still eludes me. But it's still fun, even when your model changes her pose.

I had to laugh Roz–one more thing we have in common. Everytime I draw a person in a baseball cap, the cap ruins the drawing. I don’t know why I can’t see the bill shape. Idea–I have baseball caps and a wooden head sculpture. Why don’t I set it up and just draw it until I get it? Duh……………

I’m going to make people I hang out with wear baseball caps so I can practice Donna!
