The Minnesota Center for Book Arts Visual Journal Collective meets 12 times a year on the third Monday of each month, from 7 to 9 p.m. at MCBA. (See their website for directions.)
The Collective, founded in fall 2008 by co-ordinator emeritus Roz Stendahl, is part of the adult workshop and program offerings at MCBA. Meetings are free and open to any adult who is interested in keeping visual journals. All skill levels are encouraged from beginner to life-long journal keepers.
Starting in October 2013 Suzanne Hughes (email@example.com) is the new volunteer coordinator for this group. Please email Suzanne with questions about the group or suggestions for future meetings.
We are an eclectic, curious, and welcoming adult group interested in sketching and observing our lives. Meetings are usually free. Upon occasion there will be a small fee (usually under $5) to cover materials, such as paper and toner costs for our Portrait Party booklet.
Come and join in the fun.
Please go to the MCBA Visual Journal Page on Suzanne’s blog for information about upcoming meeting topics. After December 2013 topics will no longer appear on this page.
Note: If you have a topic or know a presenter, please submit the information to Suzanne Hughes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
View Information about Past Meetings
If you would like to see what we’ve done at past meetings go to the category cloud in the left column of this blog and click on “Visual Journal Collective” or “MCBA.” Posts will come up that announce the meeting (typically with samples of the speaker’s work) along with posts that provide a wrap up of what was presented (typically with more samples and also photos of the members enjoying themselves!). We’ve had speakers come and discuss and demo art techniques. We’ve created group projects. We’re always up to something fun. Come and join us.
