Monday, April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. is the next meeting of the MCBA Visual Journal Collective.
(Note: The group meets the third Monday of every month except not May or December.)
Mark your calendars and be sure to join us on Monday when local landscape artist Diane Wesman will be on hand to give us a spring pep-talk on sketching landscapes. Diane will give us tips on how to approach a landscape. She will have some of her journals as well as some completed paintings on hand. See first hand how this artist keeps fresh in her journals and uses her journals to inspire her paintings.
Note: There is still time to sign up for Diane's pastel class at
Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, so if you are interested in pastels
check out her website and the Como link, classes start Tuesday, April 21.
After Diane's talk the group will split up and sketch interior landscapes (throughout Open Book) or, if the light and weather allows, exterior urbanscapes. We will convene again for our usual sharing of current work, ideas, and fun.
The participants of the Altered Book Round Robin will be switching off the books at this meeting and you'll be able to enjoy the progress in those books as well.
Join us and get a headstart on working outside, before our May break. The weather has been wonderful, let's build skills to take advantage of it.
Our next meeting will be Monday, June 15.
