Monday, October 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. the MCBA Visual Journal Collective will hold its first art supplies swap and silent auction. Plan to attend! Plan to bring stuff to swap and auction.

Note: If you are bringing stuff to swap or auction off please arrive at 6:30 to set up.

Participants are encouraged to bring all the little and big things they no longer use for their journaling or art projects. This includes collage scraps, embellishments, paints, whatever. (No artworks please, this is just for supplies, tools, and related items such as the table you see above.)

If it is small, and gently used and you just want it to find a worthy home, bring it along for the Swap.

If your item is on the large or expensive side and you can't let it go without some return, enter it in the Silent Auction, where you set a reserve bid. Also write me at rozjournalrat@gmail.com and tell me what you're bringing so I can add it to the next reminder post and increase the likelihood that someone's interest will be sparked!

If your item is really large, rather than bringing it to the meeting, please bring a series of photographs, and a listing of what it includes. Those will be displayed for the Silent Auction bidders. You will arrange transport after the meeting.

Now is the time to clear out those closets and cabinets, or rooms! We already have people bringing a full darkroom and the drafting table shown above. (I wish I had room for another table!) What do you need to let go of?

If you don't have stuff to swap or auction, come with cash and bid!

Following the swap and silent auction we will also be taking proposals for next year's meetings. If you would like a form you'll find one in the files section of the group's Yahoo list. Not on the list? Well you can email me at rozjournalrat@gmail.com and I'll send you a PDF of the form.
